Global Goal 14 of 17

SDG 14: Life Below Water

“Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.”

About This Goal

What is SDG 14: Life Below Water?

SDG 14 focuses on conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas, and marine resources. Oceans cover 71% of the Earth's surface and produce over half the oxygen we breathe— yet plastic pollution, overfishing, and ocean acidification are pushing marine ecosystems to the brink. Schools near and far from the coast can run cleanups, reduce plastic, study marine life, and advocate for ocean protection at every level.
